Rooted in the midlands music scene, Josh has spent decades working across the creative and community space, from live performance and production to digital storytelling and social impact projects.

 

Before launching Hideout Records, Josh founded The Global Water Project, delivering clean water infrastructure in disadvantaged rural communities, and built a decade-long career across sales, marketing and strategic partnerships, helping organisations deliver scalable impact. Combining commercial awareness with purpose, he brings a distinctive perspective to artist development, brand building and community engagement.

As a musician and songwriter himself, he has experienced the full spectrum of the industry, from gravity defying highs to soul shattering lows… the long stretches spent in dingy studios and performing hundreds of dead grassroots gigs, to eventually attracting major label interest, large-scale support tours and major festivals across the UK and abroad. Hideout Records reflects his belief in independent, collaborative and community-focused creativity.

At Hideout, Josh leads strategy, artist development, and commercial direction, bringing together musicians, visual creators and producers to build something authentic and free from industry gatekeeping.

 

Driven by a belief that success in the creative sphere should be based on talent and merit, not background and bank balance, Josh set up Hideout as both a refuge and a launchpad. A place where local talent can grow, and where unheard voices finally get the space to be amplified.
